Hi! My name is Susan Stengel. I was born and raised in Southern California and moved to the Louisville area after high school to attend college. I graduated from Indiana University Southeast with my BSN in Nursing and Walden University with my Masters in Nursing. My husband Jon is from Jeffersonville and after marrying in 2006, we settled locally. We have three boys that attend Our Lady - Will in 6th, Drew in 2nd, and Matt in Kindergarten.

While working as a nurse, I primarily worked in the adult critical care setting within the Norton Healthcare System. After being at the bedside for over 10 years, I moved on to Humana working as a Manager in the Quality Department. I worked closely with the Center for Medicare/Medicaid Services (CMS) ensuring that medical providers such as doctors and hospitals were providing patients with safe, effective care through the use of audits and clinical education programs.

In January 2019, I left Humana to stay home with the boys which didn’t last very long as I was approached about an opportunity to assist in the Early Preschool Program. I gladly joined the amazing staff here at Our Lady and was blessed when the opportunity arose to join the faculty this year. This will be my first year teaching Physical Education to the K-8 students. I look forward to bringing my healthcare background into the classroom and being able to incorporate healthy behaviors in our P.E. program.
